When Aaron was a child, he was timid and had difficulty communicating with people, including his family members. He had spent most of his time alone talking to himself. Thankfully, his parents had never given up and always encouraged him to do better. Hence, Aaron took the opportunity to further his studies in the United States, where his communication skill improved over the years aboard. Despite the shy person he still was at that point, he had been gaining confidence unknowingly, much less aware of the hidden potential that he was about to discover; Aaron’s transformation began with his first job, where he had plenty of opportunities to speak. Despite being imperfect at first, he became a better speaker naturally after countless practice. Fast forward 20 years, he is now an accomplished speaker and has successfully delivered hundreds of workshops and conferences; Looking back, anyone can improve and become better eventually. However, the progress can be much faster with the guidance of a coach or a mentor; Sometimes, opportunity comes in the form of crisis. It happened to Aaron as he encountered a massive challenge during his full-time employment. He had to leave his corporate life to become a professional speaker without financial certainty. Thankfully, he was offered a long term contract by a large firm a month after he quit his full-time job which allowed him to do what he love where he had absolute control of how to prioritise his time; Although that incident was 18 years back, Aaron is still grateful to the person who had created such great adversity in his corporate job and he often shares this story with others. While the challenge might not be pleasant, there might be an opportunity for us to grow. Therefore, always ask ourselves “What could be good about this challenge that I am facing now?”
