SRK Merpati Jepang, Kuching; Petra Jaya High School; Diploma in Business at UiTM Sarawak, final year in UiTM Shah Alam; He further part time study in Degree in Business, UiTM Sarawak while working.; Master in literature (book publishing management studies in Sarawak) at University of Malaya.
Began his career in 1989 as a Marketing Executive, then joined DBP Sarawak in 1990. He became Assistant Language Planning Officer in 1991 and was promoted to Language Planning Officer in 1997. He later served as Senior Planning Officer, Deputy Editor, and held several leadership roles, including Director of DBP Southern Region (2017), Head of the Literary Research Department (2019), and Director of DBP Sarawak Branch (2020). Since April 2025, he has been Director of Language and Literature Development at DBP Headquarters.

He has extensive experience conducting Malay language courses, leading writing and publishing workshops, and serving as a judge for various competitions organized by DBP and other agencies.

He has served in DBP for 32 years and received the DBP Excellent Service Award four times. He has held key roles, including board and panel memberships in national and state libraries, literary award committees & language development initiatives under DBP and the Ministry of Education.

He advanced to DBP Headquarters, always upholding sincerity and valuing all fields. His mission is to promote the importance of language and literature, especially among youth, as a foundation for identity and unity. He supports inclusive efforts like publishing Iban and Kadazan dictionaries and the 'Jerwasan' forum, linking indigenous languages with the national language. He envisions a Language Centre &Library for all communities and age groups.
Work sincerely, treat tasks as a trust, and pursue goals with courage and patience. To youth: think critically, learn from all experiences, and plan for both success and setbacks.
