Ir. Dr. Azim Rahman's educational path commenced at the age of four, starting in a Chinese school kindergarten before he transitioned to Gertak Merah kindergarten in Ayer Molek, Johor Bahru. At ten years old, after his family relocated to Batu Pahat, he finished his primary education at Monfort School Batu Pahat. He subsequently went to Batu Pahat High School for his lower secondary education, where he performed exceptionally well and was among the second group to take the PMR examinations, obtaining remarkable results. His educational achievements resulted in his selection for admission to the esteemed MRSM Jasin (Tun Ghafar Baba) for his senior secondary studies, where he obtained 8 A's. Even though he was first presented with an international opportunity in Australia, the financial crisis of 1998 resulted in its termination. Instead, he was selected to study at Universiti Teknologi Petronas Malaysia (UTP) from 1998 until 2002, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Automotive. Pursuing his academic endeavours, Ir. Dr. Azim Rahman completed his Doctor of Engineering (DEng.) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) from 2013 to 2019. His academic journey demonstrates a deep dedication to excellence and a fervour for mechanical engineering, which has greatly aided his career accomplishments

Ir. Dr. Azim Rahman's career journey is a testament to his versatility and expertise in the fields of mechanical and automotive engineering. He began his professional career in June 2002 as an R&D Engineer at SHIMANO Components (M) SDN BHD in Pekan Nenas. During his tenure, he designed components for bicycles and was sent to Osaka, Japan, for six months to gain further expertise and experience in the field. This opportunity allowed him to work on innovative designs, laying a strong foundation for his future endeavours; After two and a half years, in 2004, Ir. Dr. Azim Rahman transitioned to another Japanese company, SONY EMCS (M) SDN BHD in Bangi. Here, he continued to hone his skills as a Senior Design Engineer, and once again, he was sent to Japan to work on design projects. His contributions were significant, and he stayed with the company until 2008; In 2009, Ir. Dr. Azim Rahman joined Steelcase, a US company, as a Product Engineer. Over the years, he climbed the ladder to become Director Product Engineer, a position he held until 2024. During his time at Steelcase, he played a crucial role in shaping the company's product development strategies and innovations, ensuring that Steelcase remained a leader in its industry; Following his passion for exploring new career opportunities and travelling to new places, Ir. Dr. Azim Rahman accepted another job offer at the end of 2024. He is currently the Deputy General Manager for the Research Institute at Sunon Furniture, based in China. In this role, he continues to leverage his extensive background in R&D, design engineering, and senior management to drive innovation and strategic growth for the company; Ir. Dr. Azim Rahman's career journey reflects a strong combination of academic expertise, research contributions, and practical industry experience. His ability to excel in diverse roles and his commitment to continuous learning and professional development have made him a well-rounded professional in mechanical and automotive engineering

Authored and co-authored numerous research papers, articles, and book chapters. His publications cover various aspects of engineering, including design, materials, and manufacturing processes; Collaborated with various international researchers and institutions, which has broadened the scope and impact of his research

Ir. Dr. Azim Rahman's dedication to social contribution is evident through his role on the Industrial Advisory Committees of several universities, including his alma mater, Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP). He assists these institutions in reviewing and developing degree programmes to ensure they meet industry standards. His advisory roles extend to Universiti Tenaga Nasional (Uniten), Universiti Teknikal Melaka (UTEM), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM). Since 2020, he has also been an Adjunct Professor at UPM, furthering his commitment to education and knowledge sharing. It is also quite important to note that part of his social contribution and the leadership he possesses is his appointment and passion for volunteering as the Chairman of the Joint Management Bodies (JMB) for his neighbourhood, Laurel at Diamond City. He collaborates closely with the Local Authority and Community to make the neighbourhood a better place to live, ensuring comfort and safety. He has served two terms from 2022 to 2024

He has achieved several personal milestones throughout his illustrious career, particularly during his tenure at SHIMANO, Sony and Steelcase. His notable achievements include Breakthrough Technologies, Innovative Designs at Sony, Product Development at Steelcase, and Patents and Intellectual Property. Holding a patent is a testament to his creativity and technical expertise, providing a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment

This decision marked the beginning of a new chapter, filled with love, companionship, and shared dreams. The support and partnership of his wife has been a source of strength and inspiration, contributing to his personal and professional growth. These magical moments have not only enriched Ir. Dr. Azim Rahman's personal life but have also influenced his perspective and approach to his career and community work. As a licenced Professional Engineer with a practicing certificate, Ir. Dr. Azim Rahman engages in part-time lecturing, driven by his passion for sharing knowledge and developing the nation. His involvement in the working group for Malaysia's standards on plastic and office ergonomics, as well as his role in the Mechanical Engineering Division committee at the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), underscores his efforts to promote and advance the engineering profession in Malaysia
