1969 - Started his career as a teacher teaching at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kesang Muar; 1970 - Transfered to his own village and taught in Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu 18 about 4 kilometers from his home and had to will cycle to work for two years; 1972 - There was an advertisement in Utusan Melayu Singapore need teachers in Singapore and he tried his luck and applied for the job. He was accepted and worked at Batu Berlayar Primary School. He had to attend teachers training that was held 3 days a week, and it is continued for three years. After 2 years, he was transferred to Kampong Jaguh Malay School. After passing his STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia) in 1975, he was upgraded to teach in Secondary School and was transferred to Serangoon Secondary School at Upper Seranggon Road Singapore. In 1984 transferred again to Bukit Panjang Govt High school at Chua Chu Kang Avenue 4 Singapore until he fully retired in December 2012 after serving 40 years as a teacher; He and his wife has established Nuri Education Centre Sdn Bhd in 1990, a company with chain of Private & International Pre-School Education and Childcare services in Johor, Malaysia. Up to now, it has 27 branches within the vicinity of Johor Bahru, Pasir Gudang and Kulai area; In addition to that, Nuri Education Centre has a sub-company, Nuri PowerPrinting that cater to all the companies’ publishing & printing works; Other than that, Nuri Property Management Sdn. Bhd was established in 2005 in order to manage the growth of their properties. The company is currently managing up to 27 of their own properties including a corporate office (headquarter building), residences including villas, apartments and terrace houses, shop houses, agricultural lands, commercial space (warehouse unit) and a commercial land complete with a petrol station); In 2009, based on his wife’s high interest and talent in cooking, they decided to venture in another business and established Nuri Restaurants. Currently it has 2 operating branches - The Cave @ Malay Village- that serves international cuisine with a dine-in cave dining experience as well as The Halia @ Malay Village that serves fusion cuisine including local, Thai and Indonesian food. With the garden concept at the Halia, it is not just functioned as restaurants daily but they also offers wedding space and decorations for rental especially during weekends; Due to his passion and vast experience in education line as well as for his own afterlife contribution, Sri Al Azhar was established in 2010 in which leading more towards Islamic religion. After 12 years of establishment, it is now having 7 branches of Islamic Pre-School and Childcare services and Private Islamic State School known as Sek Rendah Agama (SRA) Johor within the vicinity of Johor Bahru and Pasir Gudang. Due to high demand, trust and support from both government agencies and parents, it managed to open up its first Private and International Islamic Primary School - Sek Rendah Islam(SRI) Al Azhar located in Bandar Seri Alam, Johor in 2019

He was published twice in Utusan Malaysia in 2009 due to his effort in giving best pre-school education to the children in Johor; He and his family was also published in Berita Harian (Singapore) 2013 as to share his success story in building the pre-school empire; As the founder of NURI (Group of companies) who owned the most pre-school chain in Johor, he is preparing content and collecting photos for his own Biography project “From Kampong Boy to an Entrepreneur - Life Journey of Tan Sri Ab Rahman Kasbi” in collaboration with Bizmedia Publishing Singapore 2022

Made an effort in recommending to few agencies to open an Islamic English Kindergarten as well as Madrasah (an Islamic learning programs catered for primary and secondary school Muslim students) in al Khair Mosque at Chua Chu Kang Road Singapore where he was the Vice Chairman. For the kindergarten, they decided to use English because the children have to go to primary school in which all of the primary schools in Singapore are using English as their medium. The response from parents were overwhelming. After the first year of its opening, they had almost 800 students. This pilot project was a success and it has made Al Khair Mosque the pioneer that opened the first Islamic English medium kindergarten and madrasah in the mosque, in Singapore. He and his wife did 3 years of volunteering work here before opening their own business

Receiving Singapore National Day Award 2007; Receiving letter of award from S E Nathan President of Singapore as he has rendered to Singapore Government as a teacher for 40 years. 2012; Awarded with Darjah Kebesaran that carries the title of Tan Sri due to their high achievement and extensive contribution in Education line 2019; Every year 700 to 800 Nuri students enter primary school since 1995 until now almost 32 years and had more than 100 thousands of alumni throughout all these years; Presently also have the Islamic kindergarten, Al Azhar in which produced almost 200 students to primary school every year and in its 12th year, they have almost 10,000 students ‘alumni 2022

Opened NURI Kindergarten and childcare in 1990, started from a small branch in Perling with just 7 students and have grown up to 27 branches with almost 2000 students. They started from scratch and nothing but with high passion and strong belief in education; Started the company with opening a kindergarten with himself as the administration and his wife as the Principal in their first Perling branch and 3 teachers to assist. Now they own more than 1 company, have more than 350 staff, and owning property (more than 25 properties) and F&B (2 branches); Managed to purchase a 3 storey corporate office building that is now served as the headquarters for Nuri Education Centre Sdn Bhd and SRI Al Azhar after 17 years in the industry; Been through a lot of ups and downs since the last 32 years of the establishment by going through recession in 1997, few outbreaks including SARS, Swine Flu, Bird Flu, JE and latest the covid-19 Endemic, but by the help of God, support from family and the entire Nurian (the staff), the trust from parents, they have successfully gone through all those challenges
