During a pivotal period in his life, he was running a diner in Damansara. Nearby, a group of individuals who owned eateries in the same area repeatedly came to his establishment, harassing him and even wielding weapons. Despite their intimidating behavior, he chose not to retaliate. At that time, he was deeply involved in Kalaripayattu and had been featured in a martial arts magazine. When these aggressors stumbled upon the article showcasing his practice of Kalaripayattu, their attitude toward him shifted significantly. This incident underscored the importance of composure and highlighted the need for everyone to acquire self-defense skills. It also motivated him to share his knowledge and expertise in Kalaripayattu, hoping to empower others through the art he had come to value so highly.
When reflecting on the key factors behind his success, he emphasizes several guiding principles. First and foremost is maintaining a genuine interest in Kalaripayattu, coupled with full commitment to mastering its knowledge. Alongside this, willpower and passion fuel his dedication to continuous improvement. He also highlights the importance of faith and cultivating the right mindset to help others, ensuring that his art benefits both practitioner and community. Finally, he underscores self-control in training as a vital discipline, enabling individuals to harness their skills responsibly and strive toward greater personal and collective growth.
