GRA - GREAT ANCESTORS

From an early age, Aburizal Bakrie was raised in a family where hard work, unity, and service to others were regarded as the highest values. His father, Achmad Bakrie, was not only a successful entrepreneur but also a role model whose actions spoke louder than his words. He instilled in his children the belief that no achievement would be meaningful if it came at the expense of family unity. One lesson remained deeply rooted throughout Aburizal's life: the second generation must never allow division to weaken the family, but instead preserve solidarity, mutual support, and a strong sense of togetherness across generations. His father also emphasised the importance of pursuing knowledge to the highest possible level, believing that education is an enduring asset that equips individuals to navigate an ever-changing world. Yet, he consistently reminded his children that knowledge and success attain their true value only when they are used to benefit others. These enduring principles became the foundation of Aburizal Bakrie's character, shaping his belief that leadership is not merely about building successful businesses, but also about preserving family values, strengthening unity, and creating a lasting positive impact on society and the nation

PMM - PERSONAL MAGIC MOMENTS

For Aburizal Bakrie, his greatest achievement is not defined by the awards he has received or the prestigious positions he has held, but by his ability to rise each time life and business brought him to their lowest point. His journey has been marked by several defining challenges from the early years of building his career in the 1970s, to the devastating Asian financial crisis of 1998, and again during the global economic turmoil of 2008. Each period tested not only the resilience of his businesses but also his strength of character and determination to move forward. He believes that recovery is never instantaneous. Every major setback required patience, perseverance, and roughly three years of relentless effort to rebuild confidence, reorganise strategy, and restore the foundations of his business. Rather than allowing adversity to define him, he transformed each crisis into an opportunity to learn, adapt, and emerge stronger than before. These repeated experiences of falling and rising again became the most meaningful milestones of his life, shaping his conviction that true success is measured not by how high one climbs, but by the courage to stand up after every fall and continue moving forward with greater wisdom, resilience, and faith

ROS - REASON OF SUCCESS

For Aburizal Bakrie, success has never been the product of luck alone. It is built upon unwavering hard work, a commitment to continuously learning from an ever-changing world, and the discipline to uphold strong spiritual values. He believes that true leaders must remain curious, embrace change, and adapt to global developments while never losing sight of their principles. Above all, he regards his relationship with God as the foundation of every important decision in life. His lifelong practice of observing voluntary Monday and Thursday fasting, performing the five daily prayers, and seeking divine guidance through Istikharah prayer before making major decisions reflects the balance he maintains between effort and faith. To him, genuine success is measured not only by achievements, but also by the integrity, humility, and spiritual conviction with which every endeavour is pursued.
