Her maternal grandfather passes away when she was 9 years old. He was an inspiration to her. Her grandfather moved to Malaysia from China when he was a teenager with his uncle as for he was an orphan. He worked many jobs here and never had an easy life but he worked hard till he was able to build up his own business. He was also illiterate but he used to read his children's school books once they came back from school to learn to read and write himself. He worked hard to take care of his family. Her grandfather was also a very charitable man. He donates to sustain small business and was an avid donor to schools as he was advocating the importance of education. Her grandfather shaped her core beliefs in life as for she was brought up by him till she was 9 years old. She is trying to follow in her grandfather's footsteps by prioritizing education in her own life too; She is grateful to family, friends and mentors who have supported her through all of her endeavors, no matter how it turned out. They stayed by her side during her darkest hours and helped her to realize her self worth
According to her, success is a subjective term. The benchmark for success varies according to stage of life, profession, culture, and beliefs. She credits the sincerity of the people around her, and learned the ability to observe and strategize in getting where she is today. There is a long way more to go before she would see herself as a success, but she believes perseverance and innovation will be the wind beneath her wings
