Participant in International Federation of Non Governmental Organization for the Prevention of Drug Abuse (IFNGO) annual World Conference since 2014; Has partaken in several scientific expeditions as a volunteer scientist; Sits on many public and non-governmental committees of wildlife, tourism, nature, management and protocol, of which he has also been invited to speak on such subjects; Has authored 28 books on subjects related to both science and arts and more than 100 articles and brochures on nature, butterflies, beetles, conservation, local history and royal protocol; Has produced heritage brochures of Ipoh, Gopeng, Batu Gajah and Kuala Kangsar as well as brochures on 8 different recreational forest parks throughout Perak; Has attended numerous national as well as international seminars and conventions on nature conservation, corporate management, company secretarial practices, money laundering, drug abuse, and crime prevention; He also established the first insect museum in South East Asia in 1982 near Ringlet in the Cameron Highlands but due to some unforeseen circumstances, the museum was closed in 1985; He is the first non-Malay authority in the Royal Malay Traditions and Rituals as well as formal Malaysian protocol; An authority in the study of Malaysian butterflies and stag beetles, and landscaping, planting of wayside trees and ornamental plants in public gardens and parks; He was an instrumental figure in the rehabilitation of the old town especially Lorong Panglima (Concubine Lane) and Kampung Kuchai in Ipoh, the formation of Royal Belum State Park and Kinta Nature Park; He was actively involved in the conservation and preservation of heritage buildings, structures and monuments throughout Perak; He also played a prominent role in the promotion of Perak State as a centre of excellence, education and tourism
