Adrianus has a unique career evolution from architecture design to executive leadership in risk management. Building the Foundation (2001–2012). He began as a self-employed architect and entrepreneur (2001–2006), managing design projects end-to-end. It sharpened his structured thinking and effective problem-solving discipline, which later shaped his systematic approach to risk. He transitioned to Ernst & Young (2006–2012), where his master’s in risk management built the quantitative and analytical grounding in risk. Blending structured problem-solving with analytical rigor, he advanced from entry level to Head of Financial Services Risk Management. He led multidisciplinary projects such as Enterprise Risk Management, market risk, credit risk, sector risk rating, derivative fair valuation, and later strategy advisory — applying quantitative and qualitative methods for financial institutions, corporates, and regulators. He became a trusted advisor integrating strategy, risk and governance, preparing him for broader executive roles. Executive Leadership in Risk and Strategic Stewardship (2013–Present). At Bank Permata (2013–2016), as Head of Wholesale Bank Strategy & Planning, he led corporate bank strategic planning, embedding risk–return metrics into business decisions. Since 2016, he has served at Allianz Indonesia, first as Head of Risk Management and later as Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for Indonesia. He applies a sense of forward-looking risk foresight and embeds risk-informed decision-making. His remit covers the wide spectrum of financial risk (market, credit, liquidity, and ALM risk) and non-financial risks, along with overseeing enterprise-wide capital steering of the life and health, general, conventional, and sharia insurance. He contributes to strengthening Allianz Indonesia entities as trusted and resilient insurers by reinforcing governance, accountability, and control. He also led Business Continuity and Crisis Management initiatives, establishing early-warning systems and steering swift COVID-19 responses before handing over the functions. His proactive foresight for emerging and key risks ensured business resilience and reflected Allianz’s prudence. His leadership bridges value creation with disciplined risk-taking within a defined risk appetite, mitigating undesired exposures through an integrated framework and risk analytics. His integrative approach ensured prudent implementation of Allianz Group’s global best practices with local regulations. Inseparable from his risk leadership journey, he continues to play a key role in strengthening Allianz Indonesia’s risk culture while advancing its overall risk maturity

Creative thinking complements his analytical side; his innovation earned national recognition in the 2008 Djarum Black Innovation Competition, where two designs were finalists among 1,400 entries; one, Urban Umbrella, won an award. Two of his paintings were exhibited at the 2023 public art showcase at Hotel Bidakara Jakarta, as a form of expression beyond work

He contributes actively to strengthening Indonesia’s life insurance risk management. As part of the Chief Risk Officers Working Group under the Life Insurance Association of Indonesia (AAJI) since 2017, he is currently serving through the 2025–2028 term. He represented the industry in the national working group for Indonesian National Work Competency Standards or SKKNI (2018, 2023) as AAJI ‘s sole Risk Management representative, reflecting trust in his expertise to shape sector standard

During university, a near-fatal accident became a turning point. Confronting life’s fragility deepened his sense of purpose; he came to see life as time on loan — a divine gift not to be taken for granted. Years later, after marriage, he learned that his wife’s early morning prayer in the past may have contributed to his safety. They first met when he volunteered as a teacher in a university preparation class and reconnected years later, building a relationship grounded in faith and shared purpose — a cornerstone of his life, marked by grace in moments such as their wedding and the births of their children. Another lasting influence is his mother, who gave him his first Bible with a verse he holds close, and his hardworking father

No achievement, milestone, or success defines Adrianus more than the steadfast strength and brilliance of his wife, Vonny Astridina Setiawan Ilot. Her bravery, patience, and selflessness—always placing her family before herself—together with her unwavering faith, have been the enduring pillars upon which his life and career stand. She chose to leave her career to nurture their family, teaching and shaping their children with the same strength and grace she lives by. Through every trial and triumph, she has remained his hero, a constant reminder that courage can be quiet yet unbreakable. Together with their children, Vinz, Valdean, and Virgye, whose light fills their lives with joy, meaning, and strength, she embodies the essence of what keeps him grounded, grateful, and whole. She completes every part of his journey, grounding his purpose, giving meaning to his achievements, and reminding him of what truly matters. Vonny’s strength continues to influence how he leads, with empathy, humility, and the conviction that every true success is shared.
