He famously led by example: if a team member struggled, he would personally step in to complete the task, emphasising, "If your team doesn’t, help them to do it and not just told them to do this." Key to his approach was also respecting and valuing others' opinions, listening to suggestions before making decisions, and consistently recognising good work at the right time.
