He is a proud father to two daughters, Anika, (born 2008), and Anya (born 2012). Ca Amit Kumar is a distinguished Singapore-raised technology entrepreneur, IT and website consultant, and digital solutions specialist whose career has spanned more than two decades across IT, web technologies and entrepreneurship. He is the Founder of Axon Consulting Singapore and Chatapa – No Hype Tech, and holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of London. Combining formal education with extensive hands-on experience, Amit has developed a distinctive understanding of how technology can be applied to solve practical challenges, improve business operations and create meaningful value. His journey has been shaped by curiosity, adaptability and an enduring passion for understanding not only how technology works, but how it can be used effectively in the real world. Ach Born in India and relocating to Singapore at the age of three, Amit grew up in Singapore, where his curiosity about computers and technology emerged during his secondary school years. Rather than viewing technology simply as a subject to study, he was fascinated by how systems worked and how technical knowledge could be applied to solve problems. At Secondary Four, this curiosity led him to take on his first significant technology project when he connected with the Embassy of Indonesia in Singapore to help address a network issue. Taking on such a project at a young age gave Amit an early taste of applying technology beyond the classroom and demonstrated to him the practical impact that technical knowledge could have. After completing secondary school, Amit established Comteck, a computer retail business that marked his first venture into entrepreneurship. His interests soon expanded beyond selling computers to understanding how technology could help businesses operate more effectively. In 1999, he founded Axon Consulting Singapore, a technology consulting firm established to help businesses navigate the emerging digital landscape. Over the years, Axon Consulting evolved into an integrated technology solutions provider, offering IT infrastructure, website development, cloud solutions, e-commerce, digital marketing and technology training. Amit was also involved in pioneering a facility-booking engine that brought greater automation to condominium management, strengthening his expertise at the intersection of technology, business and digital transformation. Known to some as the “Xfactor guy”, Amit has always been willing to explore new opportunities. After many years in technology, he passed his computer retail business to his brother, while Axon Consulting was later passed to his former wife. Seeking a new challenge beyond IT, he relocated to Clark, Philippines, where he explored opportunities across hospitality, property and entertainment from 2017. After helping an Australian entrepreneur deploy technology for a sports bar, Amit became involved in running the business for five years. He later operated four condominium units through Airbnb until 2025 and entered a business partnership in the hospitality and entertainment sector with a retired US Army general, eventually leaving the partnership in July 2025. These experiences broadened his understanding of business operations and entrepreneurship while reaffirming that technology remained his true passion. Returning to IT, Amit began focusing on a broader mission: helping everyday people understand how artificial intelligence and technology can genuinely improve their lives and businesses. This led him to create Chatapa – No Hype Tech by Amit, a platform dedicated to practical conversations about AI, IT, cybersecurity, websites and the rapidly changing digital landscape. The name “CHATapa” was Amit’s childhood name and serves as a tribute to his late mother and a reminder of where his journey began. His philosophy is simple: “No Hype. No BS. No Gimmicks.” Rather than simply discussing technology, he tests it, uses it and demonstrates how it works in real-life situations, while challenging exaggerated claims, questionable advertising and scams. Amit launched his YouTube channel on 15 August 2026, sharing educational and technology content with IT professionals, fresh graduates, business owners and people with little or no technical background. His objective is to explain what AI can realistically do, where its limitations lie and how individuals and businesses can use it productively. He also advocates responsible technology adoption, encouraging businesses and users to prioritise cybersecurity and online safety, with a particular interest in raising awareness of children’s online safety. Amit’s journey reflects continual reinvention while remaining anchored by one enduring passion: technology. From a curious student taking on his first network project to becoming an entrepreneur, consultant and technology educator, he continues to turn decades of hands-on experience into practical knowledge.
