Andrea began her professional journey at an early age, demonstrating a strong inclination toward independence and entrepreneurship from the age of seventeen. Although she gained brief working experience with other organisations, her career path was largely defined by a consistent desire to work autonomously and build something of her own. This entrepreneurial drive was shaped by early pressures that fostered resilience, self-reliance, and a belief in taking personal responsibility for her ambitions. Her business career formally materialised with the founding of Andrea & Weave, a brand established during her youth. Entering entrepreneurship at a young age presented challenges, particularly in terms of direction and sustainability. Despite these challenges, Andrea & Weave continued to operate successfully, maintaining a loyal client base and brand relevance for over seven years. Over time, Andrea shifted her focus toward more personalised services and long-term brand development. She has announced plans to rebrand Andrea & Weave in 2026 as Andrea Weave & Beauty, reflecting her personal growth and evolving professional vision while maintaining the core identity of her original brand. Parallel to her entrepreneurial work, Andrea established herself in the fashion and beauty industries as a model and beauty pageant titleholder, gaining national and international recognition. She was appointed Miss International Queen Singapore 2020 and represented Singapore at the Miss International Queen beauty pageant held in Pattaya, Thailand. Professionally known as Andrea R., she achieved significant milestones by becoming the first Singaporean transwoman to appear on the covers of internationally recognised publications, including L’Officiel Singapore and The New York Times Style: Singapore. In addition to her work in business and media, Andrea expanded her professional scope into mental health by training as a psychotherapist. She integrates psychological practice with her public platform, focusing on emotional resilience, self-development, and well-being. She also serves as National Director of Miss Equality World Singapore, reflecting her continued involvement in pageantry and leadership roles. Throughout her career, Andrea has credited a broad support system rather than a single constant influence, noting the quiet and consistent presence of her parents alongside the timely support of individuals who appeared at different stages of her journey. Her career reflects a balance of entrepreneurship, creative expression, advocacy, and therapeutic practice, shaped by adaptability, independence, and sustained personal growth.
