Azwar

GRA - GREAT ANCESTORS

Coming from a deeply religious and humble family background, Azwar was shaped by the perseverance and values of his father, a man who lost both parents at a very young age and struggled to pursue education against all odds. Through divine grace and relentless effort, his father attained higher education up to the doktorandus in Economics through scholarships, instilling in Azwar the lifelong principles of caring, sharing, and keep learning. These values became the foundation of Azwar’s personal and professional life. He believes that knowledge is a gift from God, meant to be shared, for the more it is shared, the more it grows. This philosophy has guided him throughout his 17-year journey in the company, where his dedication to learning and sharing has become a defining trait. His professional experiences in Hydrogeology, Water & Liquid food Technology, and Water conservation have deepened his understanding that protecting water means preserving the ecosystems that sustain it. This awareness contributed to major achievements, including the PROPER Gold Award, which recognises efforts that go beyond compliance and empower sustainable communities. The moral legacy of his father continues to inspire Azwar’s purpose to lead with compassion, foster knowledge, and create lasting positive impact for both people and the environment

ACH - ACHIEVEMENTS

Pioneering contribution to water sustainability through innovation that bridges science, technology, and human values. He combines rare dual expertise in hydrogeology and water process technology, enabling a full-spectrum understanding of water, from source to industrial use. He introduced the Hydropuls method for chemical-free well maintenance in Indonesia, developed predictive tools for well rehabilitation, and led water borehole microbiological prevention strategies. In collaboration with BRIN, he pioneered the Positive Water Impact framework to quantify industrial water conservation in Indonesia. In process technology, he led the development of a compact-folded, industrial-scale water treatment system and innovations in product development of RDT Tea, sparkling water, soft drink, isotonic drink, flavoured beverage, and Hot fill, Cold fill, and aseptic processing. On a personal level, Azwar treasures his time with the University of Indonesia Symphony Orchestra, and with the orchestra under conductor Peter Gerard de Wit, performing the masterpiece Carmina Burana, a scenic cantata, one of the best and rare orchestra performances during that time, an experience that strengthened his sense of harmony and collaboration

LS - LANGUAGE SKILLS

Bahasa Indonesia, English

H - HOBBY

Playing the violin was once an important part of Azwar’s life, especially during his younger years. However, after the passing of his father, that moment became an emotional turning point that led him to stop playing the violin entirely. Over time, he found new joy and peace through his passion for culinary exploration and travelling to the countryside

PMM - PERSONAL MAGIC MOMENTS

One of the most meaningful personal moments in Azwar’s life was his pilgrimage to Mecca. The spiritual journey profoundly transformed him; after performing Hajj on behalf of his late father, an expression of gratitude and devotion to the enduring values that have shaped his life, he felt a renewed sense of peace, clarity, and wisdom. He became wiser in nurturing his family, more composed in managing his work, and more mindful in guiding his children. Professionally, after 17 years in the liquid food and beverage industry, he closed that chapter and began a new one as the head of the Water Resources, Nature, and Process Technology Department. Although initially hesitant due to the unfamiliar field, he embraced the challenge by attending intensive training at Gadjah Mada University and later in Delft, the Netherlands, successfully applying his knowledge within the company. Through this journey, he experienced how science and faith can coexist harmoniously, deepening his belief that true community prosperity begins with responsible water stewardship. This realisation continues to inspire his commitment to contribute meaningfully to society and the nation

OA - OTHER ACTIVITIES

Moved by the reality that many children still struggle to access education, Azwar has been deeply committed to creating more inclusive learning opportunities. He was inspired after meeting a local figure in Bekasi named Pak Agus, who founded a free school that began from a small mosque and later developed into a modest kindergarten. Seeing this dedication, Azwar, together with colleagues who shared the same vision, contributed personally to support and expand the initiative. Today, the school has grown into a vocational high school (SMK) and receives government support. His motivation also stems from personal experience as a parent of a neurodivergent child. Azwar aspires to establish a school that truly understands and nurtures children with hidden disabilities, providing them with an inclusive, compassionate and empowering learning environment where they can grow according to their unique potential

ROS - REASON OF SUCCESS

The key to success begins with having a clear vision, as clarity of purpose serves as the foundation for every step and decision. To achieve that vision, he believes in continuous effort through lifelong learning and in using knowledge to empower others. He also upholds the values of respect for others and faith that every sincere effort will be supported by God. For Azwar, true success is not measured by personal achievement alone, but by the positive impact one can create for others. He believes that behind every accomplishment lies the support of many people and that valuable insights often come from those we least expect.
