In the year 1984, Datuk met a 5 year old boy who asked him why we do not have children's party? That innocent query from a child triggered a spark in Datuk's mind and gave him the impetus to harness his relationship skills to organise the Wesak Childrem's party. Datuk needed funds for the party, so he asked one of his good friends to support him financially. His friend gave him a blank cheque aand the rest was history. In the end, with the support of the public, Datuk did not use the cheque and returned it to his friend. The party was a runaway success and the 4,000 children who attended, enjoyed an evening like never before; Moving forward his dream was also to open an orphanage and a welfare home; His magic moment came to fruition in 1994 when he managed to open a Welfare Society which comprised an old folks home, orphanage, woman's shelter and a mobile clinic; Datuk also runs many outreach community centres in Malaysia that cater to the varied needs of the poor and helpless, organises blood donation drives, and facilities free medical services in the spirit of caring and sharing.
