Novan

The values passed down from his family have been a cornerstone in Novan Adrian’s journey. From an early age, his parents instilled in him a simple yet profound principle: “always help others whether they are relatives, friends, or those around you.” This foundation of kindness and social responsibility shaped his perspective and guided the decisions he would later make in life. This spirit of helping others eventually materialized when he co-founded Qasir.id. The platform was not merely created as a technological innovation, but rather as a tangible expression of the values he grew up with empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to survive, grow, and thrive in the era of digital transformation. Thus, Novan’s journey reflects not only the path of a technologist but also the living legacy of his ancestors’ message: to use one’s abilities to bring meaningful impact to as many people as possible.

Novan pursued his undergraduate studies at Gunadarma University, majoring in Information Technology. His academic journey not only equipped him with a strong foundation in digital systems and computer science but also cultivated his curiosity for leveraging technology as a driver of real-world solutions. The combination of technical knowledge and problem-solving skills gained during this period became a solid groundwork for his future entrepreneurial endeavors, including the establishment of Qasir.id.

Novan Adrian’s career reflects a steady journey of growth, innovation, and leadership across Indonesia’s digital and technology landscape. His professional path began in 2003 as a Web Developer at PT. Kyros Indonesia, where he built a strong foundation in software development. From 2005 to 2010, he advanced as Research and Technology Manager at PT. Easysoft Indonesia, honing his expertise in managing projects and overseeing technological innovations. Between 2011 and 2012, Novan pursued a freelance path as a Web Developer at Toolbar Digital Communications, further sharpening his entrepreneurial instincts. His leadership potential became increasingly evident when he joined Fortune Indonesia Tbk as Technology Group Head (2012–2013), where he managed the digital technology aspects of communication strategies. He then served as Technical Director at XM Gravity (2013–2015) and briefly as Deputy Technical Director at Mirum Agency in 2015, solidifying his reputation as a capable leader in digital transformation. In October 2015, Novan co-founded Qasir.id, a digital point-of-sale (POS) platform designed to empower micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. His role as Co-Founder marked a pivotal shift from digital consultancy to entrepreneurial leadership, shaping a company that has since become an essential partner for countless businesses nationwide. Alongside his work at Qasir, Novan has also contributed his expertise as an advisor to several initiatives. He served as Software Engineering Advisor at BATAS.CO.ID (2021–2023), guiding technology-driven education, and since 2022, he has been Advisor at Antler, a global startup generator, where he supports early-stage entrepreneurs. Most recently, in 2024, he took on the role of Advisor at SuratPlus, contributing to innovation in the digital communication sector. Throughout his career, Novan has consistently demonstrated a blend of technical mastery, entrepreneurial vision, and a deep commitment to advancing Indonesia’s startup and technology ecosystem.

Beyond Qasir.id, Novan also pursues his entrepreneurial passion by running small and medium-scale ventures, including a local noodle eatery (warung mie ayam) and a coffee shop. These endeavors reflect his belief in staying closely connected to the grassroots entrepreneurial spirit, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities faced by MSMEs the very community Qasir.id was created to serve.

Novan has consistently demonstrated his dedication to social impact and knowledge sharing beyond his entrepreneurial ventures. He is also an active member of MES DKI Jakarta, where he contributes to discussions and initiatives on advancing Indonesia’s sharia economy. In addition, Novan has actively engaged in public knowledge platforms such as Qubisa.com, sharing insights on entrepreneurship and technology adoption. He also appeared as a speaker at IndigoSpace Aceh, a digital-innovation workshop by Telkom Indonesia in February 2025, where he discussed the importance of AI adoption in MSMEs amid the challenges of the global “tech winter”.

As Founder of Qasir.id, Novan has shared in the recognition the company has received for its innovation and impact on Indonesia’s digital economy. Among the notable honors is the Digital MSME Award from the Program PATEN UMKM broadcasted on TVRI Nasional in December 2024, organized by the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI). This award highlights Qasir.id’s role in empowering micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through accessible digital solutions.

Novan is an active member and mentor in Indonesia’s startup ecosystem, contributing his knowledge and experience to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs. In addition, his collaborations with Telkom Indonesia’s Indigo programs allow him to support and mentor early-stage startups, fostering innovation and resilience within the country’s growing digital economy.

For Novan, who grew up in the regions and considered himself an ordinary student during his education, founding Qasir.id stands as his greatest achievement. For more than 10 years, Qasir.id has not only brought impact to his personal journey but also to his employees and thousands of users across Indonesia. Beyond being a company, Qasir.id represents his commitment to empowering MSMEs through technology. The success of sustaining and keeping Qasir.id relevant for over a decade is a personal pride for Novan, as well as proof of his consistency in building long-term, sustainable solutions.

Novan is fluent in both Indonesian and English, which he uses actively in professional and international contexts. Coming from Aceh, he is also proficient in Acehnese, a language variant that further enriches his communication skills and cultural adaptability.

Outside of his busy life as an entrepreneur and advisor, Novan enjoys playing the piano. For him, music is not only a form of entertainment but also a way to reflect and maintain balance amidst the dynamic world of business and technology.

One of Novan’s most profound personal moments came during a period of great trial in his life. Seven years after his marriage, his wife was diagnosed with tumor and underwent a series of chemotherapy treatments. Amidst the uncertainty, Novan resolved to perform Umrah with his wife, seeking strength and healing through faith. His prayers were answered his wife recovered, and not long after, they were blessed with the miracle of pregnancy. Around the same time, Qasir began to flourish and secured its first investment. For Novan, this sequence of events stands as a testament that perseverance, faith, and unwavering hope can bring forth miracles in both life and business.

Beyond his role as the founder and leader of Qasir, Novan actively participates in knowledge-sharing and community development initiatives. He is frequently invited as a speaker at digital, startup, and MSME forums, where he shares insights from his journey of building a company from scratch and sustaining it for over a decade. In addition, he runs personal ventures in the MSME sector, such as a noodle shop and coffee shop, reflecting his genuine commitment to supporting small businesses.

For Novan, success is not always measured by material wealth, but by what one feels. He believes that true success comes when we can bring value to others and remain excited about the journey we are pursuing this is the kind of success he appreciates most.
